As the most eastern Scandinavian country, Norway has increasingly become a global destination for foreign study. International students from around the globe are looking for undergraduate, masters, PhD, further graduate and other study abroad program due to Norway boasting a high level of quality overseas education. The country has 10 public universities, most of which are highly ranked globally. Lots of factors make Norway one of the best places to study abroad, such as its excellent economic and societal stability, openness to oversea students, high ranks in water & air quality etc. All of these allow international students to attain a wholesome experience. Normally, the applications for admission begins around December and runs until February or March for the fall semester. International students are encouraged to apply earlier due to the visa application process which may entail few months. Another prominent reason that makes Norway one of the best countries for international students is that is it tuition-free! The government funds all the higher education institutes and study abroad organizations, making it also one of the cheapest countries to study. Bangladeshi students have been availing this opportunity for a while now as it allows them to cut down on their overseas education budget and get a well-regarded degree. The living expenses are comparatively high but still within reasonable means. Foreign students are also permitted to work part-time, allowing them to reduce their financial burden significantly.
Due to being tuition-free, Norwegian universities do not provide scholarships for international students. However, historically this has to been a significant challenge because the living expenses are managed by students through a combination of part-time work and financial support from their home country. Furthermore, English is widely spoken in the country and hence finding part-time work in metropolitan cities such as Oslo and Tromso should be a matter of time. Additionally, international students can look for work opportunities within their department or with their professor as well. Norway has been a world leader in sustainability and an amazingly beautiful country to travel. Road trips around Norway has been a very popular form of exploring this mesmerizing country. With that, foreign students can expect to have an unforgettable experience here.
